Summer in Cyprus Taverna

Description:

Some places are cities. Cyprus is a mood.

This scene captures a sun-drenched taverna somewhere in Cyprus — pink bougainvillea tumbling over a whitewashed wall, blue tables waiting in the shade, that particular Mediterranean light that makes everything feel slower. Painted in a loose expressionist style with saturated color, it captures the exact feeling of stepping out of the midday sun into the promise of lunch and a cold drink.

For anyone who's spent a slow afternoon on a Greek or Cypriot island, or anyone still dreaming of it.
